Uttarakhand CM Dhami slams Rahul Gandhi over remarks calling Ajit Doval among ‘villains’

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], October 15 (ANI): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his remarks referring to National Security Advisor Ajit Doval as one of the “villains” in his political fight against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the RSS.
In a post on X, Dhami said national security and the country’s self-respect were above party politics, adding that those who had insulted Doval, whom he described as a son of Uttarakhand, must recognise the importance of these issues.
“Those who have insulted Shri Ajit Doval—a son of the 'Devbhoomi' (Land of Gods) of Uttarakhand and the nation's National Security Advisor—must realise that national security and the country's self-respect transcend the petty politics of any political party,” Dhami wrote on X.
#WeStandWithAjitDoval

Dhami accused Rahul Gandhi of tarnishing India’s image abroad and questioning the valour of the armed forces and matters related to national security. He also questioned why the Congress leader had an issue with the growing prestige and honour of Uttarakhand, a state he said was associated with military valour.
“Rahul Gandhi’s actions—tarnishing the nation's image on foreign soil and questioning the valour of our armed forces as well as matters concerning national security—reflect his anti-national mindset. Why, then, does Rahul Gandhi harbour such an issue with the growing prestige, honour, and self-respect of Uttarakhand, a land synonymous with military valour?” Dhami further wrote.
In a video accompanying the post, Dhami said the people of Uttarakhand would not forgive Rahul Gandhi for his remarks about Doval. He also accused the Congress leader of questioning the armed forces’ actions, including surgical strikes, air strikes and Operation Sindoor.
Referring to Operation Sindoor, Dhami said the Indian Army had targeted and destroyed bases from which terrorists were allegedly carrying out their activities following the Pahalgam incident.
“When the Indian Army carries out a surgical strike, he demands proof; when an air strike is conducted, he demands proof. He even questions the 'Operation Sindoor'—an operation carried out by our army following the Pahalgam incident—where, through precise mapping and a well-calculated strategy, the army targeted and destroyed the very bases from which terrorists were orchestrating their activities,” he said.
Earlier, Rahul Gandhi, in a post on X, named Ajit Doval among core figures, describing them as the "villains of this story" and alleging that the space was closing in around them as the opposition confronts the government.
On allegations involving the CEC, Rahul Gandhi alleged at a press conference addressing the Chief Election Commission that CEC Gyanesh Kumar was acting under pressure and influence from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and Ajit Doval.
“I’ve been fighting Narendra Modi and the RSS for over a decade now. I understand them like you would understand your opponent - inside out, like the back of my hand,” he wrote.
“The core characteristic of these people is cowardice,” Gandhi wrote. (ANI)
