Kaaka first glimpse: Chiranjeevi promises a dual-shaded performance
Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], August 22 (ANI): On the occasion of the 70th birthday of the famed Tamil megastar, the highly awaited title of Chiranjeevi's upcoming film has finally arrived.
Titled 'Kaaka', the film was announced on the actor's birthday with a glimpse that gives a look at two different sides of the megastar.
Directed by Bobby Kolli, the film was earlier referred to as #Mega158. 'Kaaka' is set to release in theatres on January 13, 2027, during the Sankranthi season.
KVN Productions, which is backing the film, shared the title reveal on X. The production house wrote, "Presenting the WHOLE NEW SIDE of MEGASTAR @Kchirutweet Garu on his birthday. KAAKA will set THE BLOODY BENCHMARK on the BIG SCREENS this Sankranthi, on JANUARY 13, 2027."

The glimpse introduces Chiranjeevi as K Satyam, a supervisor working in the aqua industry. In his first look, he is seen as a simple middle-class man who is focused on his work and a festival target.
The sequence takes a funny turn when Getup Srinu's character tells Satyam about a set of scooter keys given to him by his daughter. The keys accidentally fall into the water after Satyam asks him to throw them. A dog then appears with a remote, which Satyam uses to pull the keys out with the help of a magnet.
However, the light-hearted scene soon changes when guns are found along with the keys. The moment leads to the reveal of Satyam's middle-aged character and the film's title, 'Kaaka'.
The glimpse introduces the two different shades of Chiranjeevi while keeping the connection between the characters and the main story under wraps.
'Kaaka' also stars Anaswara Rajan in a key role. The technical team includes production designer Avinash Kolla and editor Antony L Ruben. Kona Venkat, K Chakravarthy Reddy, Hari Mohana Krishna and Vineeth Potluri have worked on the writing.
Bobby Kolli is directing the film, which is scheduled to release in theatres on January 13, 2027.
Chiranjeevi also has Mallidi Vassishta's 'Vishwambhara' in his line-up. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on October 16. (ANI)
