Rajasthan: CJP’s Ashutosh Ranka calls NEET-PG exam disruption ‘massive negligence’

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], August 30 (ANI): The NEET-PG 2026 examination at the ION Digital Zone Sitapura centre on Sunday was disrupted due to an internal power supply issue, following which the examination for candidates allotted to the centre was postponed.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the examination for 2,445 candidates affected by technical disruption at the centres has been rescheduled to September 5.
Speaking to ANI on the power disruption at the NEET-PG examination centre, Co-Convener of CJP, Ashutosh Ranka alleged that the incident reflected "massive negligence". He questioned the preparedness and technical arrangements at examination centres and alleged that a similar issue had occurred during the All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET) examination around 10 days ago.
"I feel that just as the Rajasthan government banned our entry after realising the reality of the schools, they should now ban entry to all exam centres across Rajasthan. That way, the technical problems will be solved," he said.
Calling the incident a serious lapse, Ranka said, "It is indeed massive negligence. In Rajasthan. Especially since the same problem occurred during the AYUSH PG exam just ten days ago, and now the same issue has arisen with the NEET PG exam."
Ranka also criticised the Rajasthan government's handling of issues related to government schools and alleged that the focus was being shifted towards political confrontations instead of addressing structural problems in the education system.
"So, you don't believe in solving structural problems. You channel all your energy into physical altercations, inciting violence, and filing FIRs. So, how will these problems be solved?" he said.
"Problems will only be solved when the country's students take to the streets and protest against them. Because their focus is solely on concealing the truth. They aren't interested in fixing structural problems," Ranka added.
Ranka also alleged that political attention was being diverted towards confrontations instead of school infrastructure.
"But what are you actually doing? You are inciting violence and sending goons; that is where you are focusing your energy. You simply do not care about the situation of the schools," he said.
He further claimed that his team had recently inspected a school in Shastri Nagar and said, "They shut down a school housed in a well-maintained building and shifted all the students to another school that is in a state."
"Across the entire country and specifically throughout Rajasthan, the situation is the same: dilapidated buildings are being left unrepaired. Good schools are falling victim to politics, but we are not going to stop; we are not going to back down," Ranka said.
He added, "In the coming week, you will see CJP members visiting various locations across the state to inspect and assess the condition of schools. The Rajasthan government is free to take action against everyone and arrest us all, but this movement will not stop."
Speaking to ANI, National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) President Dr Abhijat Sheth said the examination was conducted at 1,111 centres across the country and that there were no complaints regarding paper leaks, question leaks, hacking or cybercrime.
"NEET PG examination has been held today at 1,111 centres in 349 cities. The number of candidates was 2,56,980, out of which 2,63,535 candidates completed their examination. There were no complaints regarding paper leaks, question leaks, hacking, or cybercrime. All stakeholders, including state governments, state police, experts and faculty members from across the country, provided excellent cooperation, ensuring the exam was conducted fairly and transparently." Sheth said.

Sheth said in Sitapura centre in Jaipur, an internal power supply problem prevented the candidates from completing the examination despite repeated efforts to resolve the issue.
"I wish to specifically inform you of one issue: at the Sitapura centre in Jaipur...an internal power supply problem prevented the completion of the test; despite repeated efforts, the issue could not be resolved. Consequently, to maintain the sanctity of the examination, we had to postpone the exam at that centre; we regret that the candidates there will have to retake the test... we will conduct it next week following a proper announcement. We assure them that the examination will be held in the same manner and that we will ensure their scores and performance are not adversely affected; this is our guarantee," he added.
He assured the affected candidates that the re-examination would be conducted in the same manner and that their scores and performance would not be adversely affected.
Earlier today, NEET-PG candidates protested at an examination centre in Sitapura amid disruptions during the exam. They demanded the cancellation of the exams across the country. (ANI)
